These portraits are inspired by early spirit photography, photographs of ectoplasm and working physical mediums, as well as modern-day aura photography. Through the combination of science, the energy of the photographer/medium, and the energies of the subjects, these portraits are a  phenomenon greater than the sum of their parts. Just like the practice of mediumship, these portraits can only exist through a collaboration of energies. They are one-of-a kind snapshots that cannot be replicated.

Each subject will participate in a mini photo session (taking at least one dozen portraits during the 15-minute period). From there, the subject will be able to choose which two images they like best and those files will later be emailed to them within 48 hours. The jpg files will be sized 1200x1800 pixels, large enough for any social media purposes, and large enough for a quality 4x6” print to be made by the subject if they so choose to. If posting the image on social media, the artist/medium asks to be credited (“Julie Kuceris Gray” on FB or “@juliekgray” on Instagram).
